Overview
In July 2022, Gmail refreshed their interface, pulling Meet, Chat, and Spaces closer together as part of the overall experience, including elements from Google's Material Design 3.
Hook was responsible for creating a sizzle video that not only highlighted recent updates but paid tribute to the UI evolution over the last 18 years. The video was featured on The Verge. Some of the subtle design updates led us into deconstructed UI sequences in order to appreciate the details that went into making Gmail more accessible and streamlined over the years. They've come a long way from the typical early 2000's blue hyperlink design.

Mail Merge
After a successful Google Evolution video launch, the Google team requested a second video highlighting new features: Mail Merge, Gmail Layouts and Multi-Send Launch. The GIFs and videos were featured on social, Help Centre articles and in-product promos.

Hook was asked to build product tutorials bringing the Workspace Intelligence story to life on-stage at Google I/O as well into digital channels (blog, YouTube, Twitter). Tone-wise, the ideas should build on last year’s I/O theme of using AI and ML in Google Workspace to enhance wellbeing and human connection.
